As 8th grade came by, I was pretty happy because I had no worries or big decisions to make, or so I thought. As I got home from school one day my parents were talking about high schools and universities. Just then it hit me, what high school was I going to attend next year?
I kept thinking about what high schools I should attend next year. My parents were making me go to Foothill because they said it’s a really great school but I didn’t want to go because I knew all my friends were going to Buena and Ventura so I didn’t want to lose any. So now I had the choices of going to Buena, Ventura, and Foothill.
I kept thinking about this for over two or three months. My head would say that I should go to Buena because that’s where all my friends were going and I wanted to stay with them and not lose any. But then again, by heart would say to go to Foothill because I would get a much better education and it could help me get into a better college. So this was a really big decision to make.
In order to make this easier for me I decided to do some research. I went online to the Foothill school web page and I saw a lot of interesting things that caught my attention, such as, the type of classes, a small campus, and that they were one of the top high schools in California. From that point, i knew exactly what high school I was going to attend. My parents and I had a really long conversation about this. We kept on talking about what was best for me and what was the best decision. After all the talking we all agreed that Foothill was the best choice because they provided a really great education andit could help me with colleges and universities. The bad thing was, I wouldn’t be able to see my friends everyday but at least I get to see them on the weekends.
So far its been 8 weeks that I’ve been here at Foothill and I know I made the right decision to come here because it’s a really great school and everyone here is really nice. The only bad thing so far is working on the 9th grade project, but other then that its a really good school and I hope the rest of the year goes by great!
